Eight years after the start of ground work, the 91-story skyscraper known as 111 West 57th Street is finally finished and the first owners will move in at Christmas. As part of the project, the original Steinway Hall was restored while the The new tower, designed by SHoP Architects, features bespoke interiors by Studio Sofield. Each floor of the tower houses a single apartment.
The skyscraper is 1,427 feet tall (the Empire State Building is 1,250 feet tall) and cost $2 billion to build. It has a height-to-width ratio of 1:24, making it the thinnest skyscraper in the world.

“It’s practically calligraphic, it’s going to shine on the horizon thanks to a really opulent terracotta and bronze exterior,” says Justin Davidson of New York Magazine.

The most expensive house costs 66 million dollars, a 7,130 square foot two-story home with an additional outdoor loggia. The cheapest apartment available in the skyscraper costs $7 million and offers 2,580 square feet of luxurious living.
