Ohio Women’s Basketball plays on IUPUI Sunday

Indianapolis, Ind. – The Ohio women’s basketball team (0-3, 0-0 MAC) plays IUPUI (2-2, 0-0 HL) away. The matchup is scheduled for 2 p.m. at The Jungle and is available to stream on ESPN+. The Bobcats are looking to earn their first non-conference win of the 2022-23 season and add to their all-time series result against the IUPUI Jaguars.

THE LAST MATCHUP
December 2019 was the last matchup between the Bobcats and Jaguars. Ohio won 70-64 at home in the Convocation Center. Ohio was 23 of 57 (40.4%) from the field, 8 of 21 (38.1%) from the three-point line, and 16 of 21 from the free throw line. Ultimately, the Bobcats held IUPUI behind the three-point line on 26 of 65 shots (40%) and 6 of 26 (23.1%). IUPUI got on the line just seven times during the competition, proving the strength of Ohio’s defense. The Jags passed Ohio 43-35, but it was the Bobcats who forced 16 turnovers from IUPUI and gave Ohio 14 points. In the Bobcat’s recent contest against the Ohio State Buckeyes, senior guard, Yaya Fields topped her career high on single game points. Felder scored 20 points against Eastern Michigan in February 2022 and hit 20 points twice more in March against Kent State (3/5/22) and South Dakota State (3/17/22). Last Thursday (11/17/22), Felder scored another to add 21 points and add to her new career against battered Ohio State.

OHIO’S LATEST MATCHUP
The Ohio Bobcats faced the 13th Ohio State Buckeyes of the Big Ten Conference. Ohio stayed strong, trailing by 10 points at the end of the first quarter and leading the competition with 16 rebounds. Ohio was defeated by the Buckeyes, losing 62-90. The Bobcats were led on offense by Yaya Fieldswho had 21 points while Caitlyn Kroll led the team to the boards with a total of 9 rebounds.
