Ryan Day, Jim Knowles Preview Ohio State vs. Michigan

It’s rivalry week for Ohio State Football and Michigan.

The undefeated Buckeyes will take on the undefeated Wolverines Saturday afternoon on FOX in Columbus.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day will preview Ohio State’s 118th duel with Michigan in his weekly news conference Tuesday noon. Day is scheduled to be followed by defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Jim Knowles.

Ohio State is looking to get back on its winning streak against Michigan after losing 42-27 to the Wolverines in Ann Arbor in 2021.

Michigan historically leads the series against Ohio State with a 59-51-6 record against the Buckeyes, but the Wolverines have won two of their last 17 encounters with the Buckeyes.

Ohio State last met Michigan at Ohio Stadium in 2018, beating the Wolverines 62-39.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” and FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” will both take place ahead of Saturday’s Ohio State vs. Michigan game on the Ohio State University campus.

Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh on Ohio State: ‘Hate Isn’t Necessary’

After his first win against Ohio State in 2021, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh expressed his gratitude for the Wolverines’ annual meeting with the Buckeyes in his press conference Monday.

“There’s no reason to hate or fear or anger, anything. It’s about being grateful,” Harbaugh said. “It’s Thanksgiving week: grateful for this opportunity, these circumstances, grateful to be tested against this opponent at this time.”

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh watches as he warms up before the Nebraska game on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Ann Arbor.

Because both teams have “great players,” great coaches, and “players with Heisman habits,” Harbaugh said Michigan has a chance to show how strong it is against the Buckeyes.

“I think you have two teams going at each other like two superheroes,” Harbaugh said. “And that’s why we’re so excited to be tested. Find out what we’re made of.”
